So vanilla

The word "vanilla" has come into new meaning in recent years, but in my case I'm talking about a homemade vanilla ice cream that has a distinctive vanilla flavour.

I recently explored making home made ice cream, and this vanilla ice cream makes a fantastic summer time treat.

The best part is that you can use this as a base for other ice cream flavours. If you prefer a strawberry ice cream it's as simple as taking 1 quart of fresh strawberries, rinsing, slicing, and  placing them in a bowl and then sprinkling some sugar (about 2 Tbsp) over the strawberries and allowing them to macerate for about 1-1 1/2 hours.  If you want a chocolate ice cream it's a matter of cocoa powder, and melting chopped chocolate into some heavy cream (think making a ganache) allow to cool slightly.

All things considered this vanilla ice cream is anything but vanilla (boring that is)
